Faculty Advisor

Faculty Advisor
Michelle Dean, Ph.D.

Professor, Management

My name is Dr. Michelle Dean, and I serve as the Faculty Advisor for SHRM SDSU. I joined the student SHRM chapter at LSU as an undergraduate and it was pivotal for me in piquing my interest in and helping me to see that many paths an HR career may I take. I am happy to help students have that same "ah ha" moment that happened for me when I joined SHRM as a student member. I am proud to advise our nationally recognized SHRM chapter has received the top merit designation, the Outstanding Chapter Award (given to the top 12 SHRM chapters in the U.S.), five times and received the SDSU AS Outstanding Organization Award twice. In total, we have collectively received over 60 national, university, and Fowler College Of Business awards over the past 10 years  in recognition of our chapter's efforts in support of student professional development. SHRM SDSU is open to all majors, and we have a lot of opportunities  for SDSU students this semester. I hope to see you at an upcoming meeting!
