Management Department alumni, Andy and Karen Esparza have generously funded a scholarship to support students obtaining HR experience in an unpaid HR internship.
Eligibility
Management major (specialization in HR)
Must be participating in an unpaid HR internship and enrolled in MGT 401 in the current semester
Must be a full-time student with minimum GPA of 2.7
Preference will be given to students who are active members of the student SHRM chapter

Documentation confirming your participating in an unpaid HR internship (an email or letter from your supervisor would be appropriate for documentation)
Verification of your current enrollment in a Management Department internship course (e.g., MGT 401; an unofficial transcript showing enrollment in MGT 401 will suffice for documentation).
500-word essay which addresses the following topics:
How will you benefit from this internship opportunity and how does it relate to your career goals?
How have your education and co-curricular experiences (such as involvement with the Society for Human Resource Management SDSU chapter) prepared you to succeed in this human resources internship?
What projects, tasks, and duties will you be working on that will prepare you for a career in human resources management?
